Most often, the choice of kitchen cabinets sets the course for the visual and functional design. Whether it’s going to be in line with today’s modern kitchens or traditional, we need to know precisely what the space will allow.
That’s why our interior designers begin by taking a careful inventory of the space. How much area is there to work with, where are the windows and doors located, what’s the balance of work space to storage space?
We assess the condition of existing walls, sub floor, plumbing and electric. We tell you if they need to be upgraded. So your investment is built on a sound foundation. If your kitchen is more than 15 years old, you will want to clear everything out and modernize. An up to date kitchen is going to call for upgraded plumbing and wiring to account for modern lighting and appliances (sound system?) that you will surely want to have in the new space.
The kitchen designers make multiple small adjustments that, taken together, maximize functionality and flow. So, you get a high performing kitchen without going to the increased expense of an addition.
When the existing space is too small to allow the function we are looking for, we design a kitchen addition. This involves gutting and re-shaping the old kitchen area, then seamlessly working the old and new spaces together.
